The Amity Affliction

The Amity Affliction is a Australian metalcore band that formed in 2003. The band members are Ahren Stringer (vocals, bass guitar), Joel Birch (vocals), Ryan Burt (drums, percussion) and Dan Brown (guitar). They have made 4 albums so far. The first one was called Sereved Ties released in 2008, Youngbloods in 2010 which debuted at number 6 on the ARIA Charts and Chasing Ghosts in 2012 which debuted at number 1 on the ARIA Charts. On June 6, 2014 they released their fourth studio album called Let The Ocean Take Me.

Ahren Stringer and Troy Brady started the band in their final year of high school. The band was named for a close friend of the band, who died in a car accident at the age of 17. ‘Amity’ referred to the friendship and ‘Affliction’ was for dealing with the struggle which dealing with the death caused the band members. They spent many times playing at school concerts and lunch breaks. This summer they will be playing on Vans Warped Tour 2015.

The World Tour

The World Tour was a concert that had four different bands. The first band that played was This Wild Life. They were a new band that had just started out. The second band was Beartooth. They were a really good band. The third band was Pierce the Veil. In my opinion they were the second best band there. The best was for last which was Sleeping with Sirens. They are one of my top favorite bands. Sleeping with Sirens was the first band that I met in 2013. So I have seen them live twice now.

Rock Music

There are different styles of Rock, For example punk rock, post hardcore, and metal core. Some people don’t understand this type of music. Some say that it isn’t music because of the screaming or it’s evil. In reality this genre is probably the most caring. Yes they scream but it doesn’t mean they aren’t saying words. If you listen carefully you would understand. The lyrics are usually uplifting and can help you get through the day. Not everyone is going to understand this and it sucks if you don’t. Just next time think before you speak because your opinion on something can be different for someone else.
